“Their Satanic Majesties Request” is an excellent example of 1960’s Psychedelia and has split many opinions five different ways. Certainly highly experimental, and some of the tracks are not all that great like 8 minutes and 33 seconds of Side 1, Number 5 “Sing This All Together (See What Happens)”! But the tracks that work, work spectacularly like “She’s a Rainbow”, “2000 Light Years from Home”, or “In Another Land”!
The Rolling Stones would never again return to anything even remotely like this musical style. The loss of Brian Jones may have had something to do with that direction for the band.
Still an outstanding album and effort!
